Rosie Eccles, born in Newport, Wales, discovered her passion for boxing as a young teen. She always aspired to be an Olympian. However, at the age of 15, she faced a major setback when she was diagnosed with a heart condition that necessitated critical surgery. At 21, she represented Wales in the Commonwealth Games, winning a silver medal in the welterweight division. Her goal was to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She endeavored to secure a place to represent her country, but during the COVID outbreak, she contracted a virus that caused severe pain and resulted in an 80% loss of functionality. Undeterred, she triumphed a few years later, securing a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games and a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing Great Britain.
