Our Story
Overhand was born out of the grit, determination, and unrelenting spirit of its founder, Freddie Barrera, a former professional boxer from the Inland Empire. Having faced extreme bullying, economic hardship, and the challenges of growing up in a single-parent household, Freddie discovered boxing not just as a sport, but as a lifeline—a way to reclaim strength, confidence, and identity.
After years of climbing the ranks in the boxing world, his brother, Bryan Barrera saw a need for something greater: apparel that represented fighters' unyielding spirit and resilience while meeting the demands of peak performance. And so, Overhand was created, uniting world-class athletes and everyday warriors under a shared purpose—to fight not just for victory in the ring, but for triumph in life.
From the very beginning, Overhand has embraced the values that define boxing: discipline, perseverance, and heart. Every design and every thread reflects the founder’s commitment to helping fighters of all backgrounds gear up for their own battles—whether in training, in competition, or simply in the fight to overcome life’s challenges.
